Product Review: Shokubutsu Facial Wash

Hello, March~ :D

Hope your February had been amazing, if not, there are 10 more months to go in 2013.
To start the first March post, I'll be reviewing this AH-MAZING (っ◕‿◕)っ♥  facial wash.
It's nourishing. It's soft to the touch. Best of all, it is CHEAP!
It's none other than Shokubutsu line of facial wash. I only bough two types of facial wash from the brand that works with my dry/oily combination skin.

The green one is the Balance Facial Foam Cleanser and the beige one is Hydrating Facial Foam Cleanser.

Balance Facial Foam Cleanser [For Oily Skin]
It has green tea and green apple extracts. Well, according to the name it balances the face's complexion (??). For a better description, it has features of Lightening, Moisturizer, Nourishing and Pore Cleaner. <--- Got this from the website.

I bought this 'cause I could't find the hydrating one so, it's okay. It does tighten the pore a little (not good for people who have really dry skin though, it can irritate the skin) but lightening, not so. It does moisturizes and nourishes the skin, so it's not bad.

The smell is also not very strong, just to let you know. I don't like too smelly facial wash. Bleugh!

Overall, this my second favourite facial wash :)

Hydrating Facial Foam (For delicate skin)
This has grape seed and balm mint. This is a MUST-HAVE product (Did I mention it is very cheap?).

My sister and I love this product so much. I discovered this gem at the end of 2011. I was looking for cheap facial wash that could moisturize my dry skin while I save up some money to get an expensive one. But ta-da, not much money is needed for this :D

This is my top 1 facial wash. For people who have really dry skin or flaky skin. Use this for about two or three months, you can see an improvement in your skin. Mine did!

For people living in Brunei, they sell this less than BND $8. I'm not sure if they sell in other countries beside Asia region.

I like to add a story for this product. They actually ran out of this particular product in supermarkets and shops. I don't know why! I was looking for it for the last 5 months or so, everywhere in Brunei. In the end, I had to settle with the Balance Facial Wash which is not bad.

I actually had to buy two and it was the last two stock on the shelf compared the rest which were stacked in rows of 5. Thank goodness, it was during Chinese New Year sales. Haha, so I bought two under BND$10.

My sister then suddenly had the dry skin condition rising up, so she bought an expensive facial wash from a local Korean-line of make up shop but it didn't work. So, I recommended her this product. She loves it :D She stopped using her expensive facial wash though D: (Bai, bai money~)

As you can tell, this product is my bias and I hope the Lion company won't change whatever great thing they got going on right now.

Advice: To ensure the product works on the skin, the usage must be constant. For example, I used this product three times in one day. Morning, Before going to sleep and whenever I feel icky/oily.

Warning: If you try this product and pimples starts to form or skin condition is getting worst. Stop using it! This applies to any facial products.

That is all for this product review. 'Till next time :D

Advice of the day: Drink your water slowly. For example: Taking sips instead of one or two big gulps. This allows the body to absorb enough H20 (Water) into the organs. Also, decreases frequent urination problem.

Music Rant!

Hey everyone :)

Today's post will be about music rant. Just to release some things off my mind. So far, I still love KPOP and English music. They're both pretty much conquer my playlist right now.

Not only I like the original songs but I also like the remixes and different renditions people covered of the songs.   Though, a few days ago, I found myself missing the old school KPOP such Super Junior in "U" and "Don't Don" and TVXQ "Rising Sun" and "O-Jung Bang Hap". Links are down below if you have not watch or heard of this songs. It's a MUST!

Super Junior - U
Super Junior - Don't Don
TVXQ - Rising Sun
TVXQ - O Jung Bang Hap

I especially like where U-Kiss and B2ST are going with their music direction. JD relic and co. produced U-Kiss' songs such as Tick Tack and Neverland really has that refreshing sound to it (undeniably, as well as JD's voice in the adlibs and some English lyrics).

Though, I'm not much of a hardcore fan of Kpop like the old days. I still do keep up to date with great songs such as NU'EST Hello, MFBTY Sweet Dreams, SISTAR19 Gone Not Around Any Longer, SNSD I got a boy and so much more.

But I've err.. simmered down a bit.

Though, widely popular artists such as Rihanna and Lil' Wayne, Justin Bieber, One Direction and The Wanted gets to be on Top 10 of Billboard, I prefer listening to the people who cover them like Alex Goot, Kurt Schneider, Pentatonix and Lunafly for more variety. Just to name a few.

Currently, I'm loving the remixes produced by Jun Areia @ AreiaCreations and DJ Masa @ Masamixes on youtube.

DJ MASA's Youtube

Okay this is a short post and rant ._. But this is pretty much it in my head currently [aside from studies :I ].
Till the next post :)

Make Up Time : Orange eyeshadow, Winged eyeliner and Tanned!

Ello people :)
It's February!

Had a free early evening today so I thought, "I want to play with make up!". So yeah, I did.

I also like to add the fact that that I got tanned during these two months since December. Thus my skin looked dark orangey in the pictures + I had a break out of pimples a few days ago D:
Also, they are taken by my phone

Under great lighting.

The orange eyeshadow is blended with my current skin colour

I totally love this Adele-esque eyeliner and would rock it out in an event :D

How I tanned I look like?

So, what did I use here. [In order]
Face Prep: The Faceshop Super Gel, Oxy Cover, Etude's Suprise Essence Concealer shade #2 and 17 Miracle Make Matte Loose Powder.

Eyebrows : ICCI Shade 02

Eyeshadow: From a cheap MAC I bought [Not gonna lie here]. I shall call them, orange red and copper orange.

Eyeliner : MAC shimmery black for outlining the eyeliner, ZA liquid eyeliner (lovelovelove!) and Sivanna Make Up Pencil E24 White colour.

I contoured my face as well but it can't be seen due to my dark skin. Then, I used a coral pink blush for my cheeks and light nude lip gloss for the lips.

Eyeshadow process : I used the orange red on the inner corner eyelid halfway and then, padded the copper orange on outer corner and blend it from having harsh lines. Then, I used the black eyeshadow to create the desired winged eyeliner. This is a good technique for both beginners and non-beginners since you can erase easily using a Q-Tip if you make mistakes. When you're happy, trace the black eyeshadow using a liquid eyeliner in small strokes and fill it in. Using the white eyeliner pencil, I traced the inner corner of my eyes to brighten ze eyes~

Finish the look off with soft or nude colour blusher and nude lip gloss and you're done!
Avoid putting on red blusher and red lipstick, anything that is too strong of a colour or else, you'll probably look like a clown (Unless, you're going for that look o.o Not that I'm against clown or anything.)

So, the question is, would I wear them on a daily basis?

In the pictures, they don't really look bright but in real life it is a quite bold colour. Especially for those people who have light or fair skin. I do recommend lighter shades of orange than the one I chose, for fair coloured-skin people.

For dark or tanned skin, go crazy with it. It compliments the skin colour very well. I would have used Neon orange eyeshadow if I had one, haha.

To answer the question, yes, I would. I've wore this make up before, it was early in the morning and had breakfast with my parents in town. Though, I admit, it's a bit too much but hey, go crazy! I also think it makes my face look older than I really am, but meh.

What's my favourite part of this look? It has to be the eyeliner. Since I have short and sparse eyelashes, I  would use eyeliner most of my days going out.

So, what did you think? Is it a...
 Yes?
 No?

Now, I'll leave you with some photos I googled randomly with orange eyeshadows on :)

Advice of the day: Wash your face everyday, after you woke up, before going to bed and whenever you feel icky on your face :)

Music Review: Mine by Kim Jaejoong

Oh my Joongie!

On the 16th January, Kim Jaejoong from JYJ released his first solo and mini-album called "I". But I won't be reviewing about the album, instead his song titled 'Mine' and his music video.

And I would like to say, *cough* THIS SONG ROCK MY SOCKS!

I remembered back in the old days of Tri-angle/TVXQ where they did a rock song featuring BoA and TRAX, it was pretty much awesome.

I guess Jaejoong always had it in him, the punk rock side of him or visual kei. The fact that he's channeling this lost boy/dark angel/vampire characteristics in the MV is ah-mazing. I mean, it's every girl's dream (Yeah, you, fanfic writers, you).

The song and the lyrics are befitting to the MV concept, it's dark and rough. Displayed by pretty Jaejoong chained to the wall, running against of angry flying crows, getting barks from this dog (which came out of nowhere really O.o'') and baring his fangs.

Ookay, so not much rough things going on (Running against the birds was tough, I think. I mean, have you try??).

The music is amazing, the arrangement was superb. I especially love the part where the solo piano played so beautifully and then gradually joined in by the guitar and end of the song. It made me wish there was an acoustic version of him singing and the piano only.

The video on other hand, is beautifully captured buuuuuutttttttt I have one or two problems with it.

1) WHAT THE HECK IS ON HIS HEAD??? I don't even know D: Come on! Really? Dear Kim Jaejoong, you should question your stylist before the music video was released worldwide or at least, question whether THAT thing on your head made sense or not.

2) Blurry scenes. As a fan of this beautiful and talented man, I'd like to see his image super clearly and not in artistic or accidental blurs. It's Kim Jaejoong mudaskipas! Haha. But yeah, that's it .-.

Other than, randomly placed and flying animals and fire bursting on Joongie's command (cheesy though). No problem here.

RATING:
Song: 4/5
MV: 3.5/5

Pwetty~

Movie and Food day!

Hello guys! Hope you had a wonderful Thursday, I know I did. It was a public holiday today so my sister and I went to Bandar to spend the day. I was so sleepy in the morning, but then again, when ever am I not sleepy in the morning?  (Not a morning a person :/)

So this is me, wearing quite thick make-up and facing the sun for lighting. There's a tip for you selca people ;)

*Selca = Self-camera or pictures taken by yourself.

We visited Jing Chew Restaurant for the FIRST TIME!

The place had been there for 66th years, if I'm not mistaken and we never knew about the place 'till now. My sis ordered the Sesame Kuew Tiaw and I ordered Roti Kahwin (Kaya and Butter). I have to say the food is pretty good especially the Sesame Kuew Tiaw (MUST TRY ONE!!).

The address is at Spg 5, Menglait on the KFC side there. It took us a while to find the place 'cause it was so near the bridge and slightly hidden from traffic. Thank goodness for whatsapp and asked a friend who lives nearby of the location (Thank you <3).

Then, we went to the Mall to watch a movie.

(WARNING THERE MAY BE SPOILERS AHEAD!!!  Or not)

I've been waiting for this movie since I watched the trailer November 2012. And it did not disappoint me at all. I love graphic novels and this movie was like one. I love action movies like this, it has an interesting plot line, a twist to the original Folklore but a few things didn't make sense. Also, the movie was hella bloody, lotsa CGI-ed blood. The choreography for the fight scenes was not too bad, they even had a comedic nature to it.

The script was okay-okay. Not much exchanging of lines. More actions than words.

To top of it all, I loved the fact that the movie has Steampunk reference, the weapons. The weapons used by Hansel and Gretel were awesomeeee! If I were to chose between Gretel's bow shot (that can shoot both ways 90 degrees) weapon or Hansel's rifle/shotgun/sabre compartment, the rifle wins.

Also, soundtrack was composed and produced by Hans Zimmer (Me likey!). The same guy who made soundtracks for Inception, Lion King, Gladiator, Kung Fu Panda and much more! And the music was awesome. 'Nuff said.

I rate it 4/5. Deduct one mark due to some unnecessary scenes and a few didn't make sense.

Also, the movie forgot to rate it like 16 years old and above only. So gore mannn  D: I advised you to not bring children, seriously. O.o''

Not gonna spoil it to you anymore, go watch it! ( Unless, it is not your thing so, whatev XD There are other movies :3 )

At Kenny Rogers restaurant~

Last stop was at Giant, Rimba. Ate at Kenny Rogers Restaurant, not bad. Affordable. Though, the service was slow ( :/ maybe because it's new..?)

Then, went home.

:D

Advice of the day: Drink at least 10 glass of water a day for a healthy body ( including non-fattening food D: )

Beauty Product: Super Gel

Hello there! So, here is my first beauty product blog post. It's not a review yet, but just want to share this beauty product with y'all.

Isn't Kim Hyun Joong dreamy?
Though, it looks like an ice cube was thrown onto his face and he was so hot, it melted D:
(Sorry, put that lame joke far behind your head!)

I just bought Super Gel from The Face Shop and I've been eyeing this product since late 2012. I don't have the perfect skin. My skin condition is a mix of oily and dry skin 'cause I always go out under the sun with no sun-block or any skin protection (Which is bad! So, don't follow my footsteps and use a good sun block to avoid snake or scale skin! D: ). So, I need a good moisturizer that would bring back the moisture in my skin.

In 2010, I really had bad skin. The area around my nose became super dry and flaky due to sunburn from a sport competition. For almost a year, I went to classes with scaly skin on my face. Back then, I didn't know what product to use or what to do. I've tried using a scrub wash, it worked the first few times, peeling off the flakes but the condition would go back again a week later. Then, a friend of mine suggested using The Face Shop moisturizer (My Miracle!) and gave me one! (Thank you <3). After putting on for two months, IT WORKED! (Huzzah!)

The Face Shop don't sell it anymore and upgraded to this Super Gel. What is it actually? Well, according to the leaflet I have....

Crystal Water Super Gel 100 ml. It has Immediate Cooling Sensation.

  • Effective hydrating agent makes tired, stressed skin dewy and moisturized,
  • Provides soothing and relaxing effects to the skin,
  • Provides soothing and relaxing effects to the skin, making it beneficial for sensitive skin, sunburned and sun-exposed skin,
  • Cooling sensation also tightens pores.
This is all about this product so far. I will make a review of this after two weeks or three weeks.
Stay tuned! :)

Advice of the day: Never forget to moisturize your face after your daily face wash, day and night.

Celeste Buckingham

I found this precious Gemstone yesterday night before I slept. An amazing young singer with a beautiful voice. Her voice somewhat reminds me of Marina and the Diamonds crossed with Amy Winehouse, just incredible.

When I said young, she is quite young (Younger than me!). Celeste Rizwana Buckingham was born on 3rd May 1995, in Zurich, Switzerland.

The first song I listened to was "RUN RUN RUN". It was released in June 2012 under her Don't Look Back album. The song's genre is a mixed of Blues, Rock and Jazz. It was the song that perked my interest for this singer.

The music video is quite simple really. It starts with the band members and Celeste clapping their hands to the song. Shot in a big house. Her on different places of the house for solo scenes while the band members just stayed put in a room with their respected instruments (Too heavy to move the things, maybe?).

It's a good song, I like the rhythm and the clapping in the song. The lyrics also fits the song's title so no complain here.

The second song "Never Be You" is a personal favorite of mine. The lyrics is also something people can relate to. Though, it reminds me of a generic rock-pop song.

The music video is also very simple. In the beginning of the video, a very comfortable and expensive looking chair faced a full-body mirror in the middle of the room. Then, Celeste, dressed in black mini entered the room and sat in the chair, looked at herself in front of a full-body mirror (Touch up perhaps?). She accidentally dropped her lipstick or lip gloss (I think) and when she picked it up, she saw herself in a white attire with a fur jacket. It is Celeste except it is not her as the white Celeste acted posh and keep giving her the 'I'm-better-than-you' look while the black Celeste looked at her in 'What the heck?' look. The next few seconds, the image in the mirror dissapeared and left Celeste in wonder whether it was real or not. It was for a few seconds then, she was called out by her band member and the song begins.

Throughout the video, as Celeste and her band performed in the hall(?), the white Celeste appears among the crowd like a ghost which only Celeste on stage, can see.

I think the funny part was when the crowd started to clap their hands to the song and the white Celeste looked panic by this. (New method of exorcism O.o?)

In the 3/4 of the video, the two Celeste faced each other off with the original Celeste shouting her off 'I'll Never Be You". The song ends and back inside the room, apparently none of this had happened and Celeste was seen moving her hand away from her eyes. (Twillight zone, duuuuuddduuudduuu.) And this time, she was really called onto the stage or is it??? Dun Dun Duuunnnnnn~

That's pretty much it. Also, check out her Nobody Knows music video which was written for the benefit of children with Austism in Slovakia.
